He is an Indian printmaker, painter, and draughtsman. His works are present in various mediums i.e. glass painting, sculpture, pastel, gouache, and etching. He is known for his eroticism in a rural context. Goud was born in Nizampur, Medak district in Hyderabad. He was one of the seven siblings in the family. His childhood was spent in rural environments.
After graduation Goud went back to the village and explore the sexual aspects of the rural regions. With a new viewpoint, he found that sexuality in the rural is not very self-conscious.
Laxma Goud use to interpret the tribal and rural vivacity in his art. the art that mingles poetry and surrealism fantasy. In a palette of monochrome, gray-he created small paintings of rural life. He also draws with pen and ink and his works are a combination of nostalgia, surrealism, and erotic.
By the 1970s Goud began to explore aquatint in his etchings and also more intensely sexual themes. But by the 1980s the artist seemed to return to more traditional roots, exploring various craft forms such as terracotta and reverse glass painting in a more subdued and decorative style.
The Government of India honored him with Padma Shri ( fourth highest civilian award) in 2016.
