Light is split into seven colors; indeed they are systematic and naturally distributed. If we look over the rainbow, we are introduced to a system of work where nature itself gave the proof of lighting and darkness at every corner of the earth. It is so simple yet complex, these seven colors of the rainbow are so similar to the seven musical notes.
Even in art these colors and their counter colors play a very important role. If we use them according to the natural and systematic ways. We get the right kind of artwork that will match the complete rhythm of the people’s minds.
It indeed waves which are playing these important roles and these waves are so connected with the visual art that they introduce us with the different sense. It is a matter of fact the electromagnetic waves cause the colors while it is also a fact that using dark shades and light shades in the painting with the right intention in the right place can do wonders to it.
Mutual connections between light and color
It is the art of using the right color and color shades on the canvas that give value to the paintings and if your painting is not getting the right color combinations then you should give a look over the color theory, maybe it will help you out.
The color scheme is very necessary and the right shades with these color schemes could be only created after knowledge of lighting over the art. The reason behind this color and light coordination is their mutual connections. They are incomplete without each other.
If the light on the painting is not correct then the color couldn’t be the best. Knowing where you will have to add the lighting and where the darkness is another theory. We definitely should try to understand the right amalgam of light and color in our art. This understanding and execution will add a different dimension to our artworks.
Symbolic overexpose of light
If we look in the mirror and try to understand the rays falling on it and then entering into our eyes then we shall be able to know the rules which play role in the light in art. In the mirror, we see the realistic or hyper-realistic images while in paintings it is completely dependent upon an artist to do whatever he wants to do with the paintings and the colors. But one thing that would never change is that a painting is also a natural entity and it should have those combinations that a natural thing looks pretty.
Light and color are very important and they should not be ignored. Even if do not understand the working of light exposure in a painting, our unconscious mind knows what is the right and emotionally stimulating painting. Light exposure should be in the right composition so that the paintings do not show the over-exposed areas and don’t look synthetic. Although, we can use overexposure or underexposure according to our need and as a symbol.
